Orientation 2020

Orientation 2020

Welcome to Crandall University!

We are excited for you to begin your semester with us this Fall!

Because starting university is a unique experience (and made all the more unique this year because of current events), we have a full day of activities planned to ensure you have everything you need to jump right in!

We are even encouraging you to take care of some of the more ‘wait in line’ types of tasks in advance so that we can focus on getting settled into university life straight away!

Orientation Sessions

On September 8th, 2020, we will have our Orientation session with our new and transfer students. In order to accommodate all of our new students and follow public health guidelines, we will be offering two sessions that morning.

Your session time is based on your last name:

  • 9:00 am – Last names beginning with A-L
  • 10:15 am – Last names beginning with M-Z

Students A-L

Doors will open at 8:30 am at our Stultz Hall entrance for our new students (A-L). Please check in when you arrive and pick up your Orientation Package, including your class schedule, student ID (see below), and Mail Key.

Your session will begin at 9:00 am in the Brinton Auditorium in Murray Hall.

Following your session, you will take a tour of the campus and have a chance to meet your Academic Advisor.

Students M-Z

Join us as early as 9:45 am to check in and receive your Orientation Package.

Your session will begin at 10:15 am in the Brinton Auditorium.

Following your session, you will also take a campus tour and meet your Academic Advisor.

PRIZES!!

There will be a chance to win some amazing prizes at each new student session, but you need to be here in order to win!

The afternoon will include some AWESOME activities hosted by the Crandall Student Association. Plan to stay the day!

Returning Students

The returning student session begins at  1:30 pm behind Stultz Hall. This session will be outdoors. Learn more about new Student Services and our COVID-19 guidelines. Plus, there will be PRIZES!

Bachelor of Education Students

Education Orientation begins at 1:00 pm in the Brinton Auditorium.

Please enter through Stultz Hall. Education session is mandatory for all new Education students. Please remember to bring your mask.

Health and Safety

Please remember when coming to campus that, in order to ensure that we are all prioritizing each other’s health and safety while on campus, we ask that you complete a COVID-19 self-assessment before entering buildings, wear a community face mask in all public areas, and maintain 2 metres of physical distance between yourself and others. We’ll provide you with additional information and guidelines during your Orientation Sessions, or feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Before you arrive – Skip the line!

Skip the line on these items so that you can arrive on campus ready to go! Make arrangements to pay your tuition and fees before you come, and order your Student ID Card (which lets you into academic buildings and other places on campus), all before you arrive on campus!

Finance Office – Pay tuition and fees early!

Make arrangements to pay your tuition and fees in advance instead of standing in line on Orientation Day! The finance office is providing one on one virtual meetings with you either through Zoom or by phone – your choice!

This will allow you a chance to ask all your financial questions and make payment arrangements before you even arrive on campus. You can even have your parents included in the meeting if want.

Appointments are available through September 3, 2020.

Our office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, so appointments will be during those hours.

Simply email Alisha Doucette, Assistant to the Finance Office and request a meeting time. Include a couple of options in your message and we’ll get back to you with an appointment.

You’ll meet with a member of our finance team who are here to help you navigate the financial side of attending university.

We can provide you with information on the cost of the semester, calculate your scholarships, talk about your payment options, and discuss other financial questions you may have.

We really look forward to meeting with you and making this process easier for you and your family.

IT Services – Have your Student ID Card ready when you arrive

In anticipation of your arrival this Fall at Crandall, we are working to make the transition to student life as seamless as possible. To that end, we at Crandall IT are doing our part to help you spend less time standing in line by preparing new Student ID cards and setting up your Crandall system access credentials in advance.

All you have to do is fill out the form at the link below. This not only helps with maintaining public health guidelines for the health and safety of everyone, it also allows you the opportunity to take your own ID photo. As one last bonus, submitting this form will also confirm your personal email address so that we can forward along your Crandall IT system credentials.
