Dr. Diandra Singh is an Assistant Professor of Education at Crandall University. She received a BSc from St. Francis Xavier University, a BEd from Lakehead University, a MEd from Lakehead University, and a PhD from the University of Ottawa. Dr. Singh joined the faculty in the summer of 2022.
Some of the courses that Diandra teaches at Crandall include Science Education, Educational Foundations, and Diversity and Multiculturalism.
Diandra’s research is focused on exploring educational programs/methods that redress issues that marginalized youth encounter in schooling and often involves minority racialized groups, those with low socioeconomic status, FNIM, and those in the justice system. She is well informed by her experiences growing up in an urban neighbourhood and teaching in various settings, including a remote fly-in community.
She is currently the co-director on a project that explores the use of hands-on STEAM kits with marginalized students.
