Scholarships, Awards & Bursaries

    Crandall University is committed to helping students achieve a transformational education by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships, awards, and bursaries for many of our undergraduate students.

    The following types of scholarships are available:

    • Academic Leadership & Service
    • Housing & Leadership
    • Jackson Scholarships

    Important Instructions for students using the online Application for Financial Awards for the first time:

    1. When you arrive on the page that asks you to provide a user name and password please select New User Registration under the Login Button.
    2. On the New User Registration page please fill out the required information.  You will be required to create your own User ID, and
    3. Once you submit the New User Registration please follow online instructions for the Application for Financial Awards.

    Definitions:

    • Scholarships are primarily merit based and recognize a student’s academic, leadership, and/or athletic achievements.
    • Awards are one time (non-renewable) amounts normally given at the time of entrance.  These identify students with a particular background or experience that the University wants to recognize and demonstrate appreciation for.
    • Bursaries are established to offer financial assistance to full-time students who have a demonstrated financial need.

    Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries are provided in two different ways:

    Guaranteed scholarships and awards are primarily merit based and recognize a student’s academic achievements.  These awards are offered automatically when incoming students receive a letter offering admission to the University.

    Application-based scholarships, awards, and bursaries primarily recognize a student’s academic achievements, leadership and service, and/or athletic achievements and are awarded on the basis of successful completion of an Application for Financial Awards and consideration by the University’s Financial Awards Committee.

    Financial Awards

    The Financial Awards Program at Crandall University includes scholarships, entrance awards, and need-based bursaries. Incoming and returning Canadian students may receive one scholarship, award, or bursary or several in combination. Students seeking financial assistance should also apply for external scholarships and available assistance from local, regional, provincial, or federal sources.

    Board of Governors Entrance Scholarships

    These guaranteed entrance scholarships reward high school applicants who demonstrate academic excellence. Canadian applicants with a minimum admission average of 80%, as determined by the Admissions and Financial Awards Office, automatically qualify for a scholarship for full-time studies. Applicants with higher averages are awarded larger scholarships.

    These scholarships are offered with rolling admission (no deadline), are automatically offered, and can be combined with other scholarships, awards, and bursaries offered by the University.

    *These scholarships are renewable, at their amount, in the second, third, and fourth years of full-time study if the student maintains the required Grade Point Average (GPA).

    Board of Governors Transfer Scholarship

    These guaranteed entrance scholarships reward transfer students who demonstrate academic excellence. To qualify, transfer students should have completed at least 9 credit hours of study at another recognized North American college or university with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0. The scholarship amounts are awarded as follows:

    These are awarded for the first year of full-time study at Crandall and are not renewable. These transfer scholarships are automatically offered with rolling admission (no deadline), and can be combined with other scholarships, awards, and bursaries offered by the University.

    The Jackson Entrance Awards

    To honour the memory and service of the late Rev. Donald Jackson, a professor and Interim President (1964-1966), the Jackson Entrance Awards were established to demonstrate the value Crandall University places on faith-based education and vocational Christian ministry. These entrance awards are designed to recognize Canadian and international students who graduate from Christian secondary education, students from families engaged in vocational Christian ministry, and students who graduate from faith-based Christian homeschool settings.

    A letter of application must be received by the Admissions and Financial Awards Office confirming the applicant meets at least one of these criteria prior to the intended start date of full-time studies.

    The Jackson Entrance Awards are valued at $1,000 per qualifying student.  These awards are non-renewable and are provided to those engaged in full-time study at Crandall.  They are offered with rolling admission (no deadline), and can be combined with other scholarships, awards, and bursaries offered by the University.

    Leadership and Service Scholarships & Awards

    These scholarships are offered to eligible Canadian applicants who provide evidence of significant Christian leadership during their high school years. This may include the applicant’s service in the local church, camp ministry leadership, community engagement, mission trips, or other acts of Christian service.

    Scholarship amounts are determined by the applicant’s admission average. A student must submit a letter of application to the Admissions and Financial Awards Office highlighting their Christian leadership and service involvement.  There is no limit on the number of these scholarships awarded in a given year.

    These scholarships are offered to qualifying applicants for full-time study and may be offered in addition to other scholarships, awards, and bursaries offered by the University. Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain their local church and community engagement while receiving their scholarship.

    Colburne and Mitton Campus Housing Scholarships

    These awards are for eligible Campus Housing applicants who provide evidence of local church and community engagement within their high school years.  Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain their local church and community engagement while receiving the scholarship.

    Applicants must submit a letter of application to the Admissions and Financial Awards Office highlighting their service involvement.  There is no limit on the number of these scholarships awarded in a given year, as long as space remains in Campus Housing.

    Colburne House Scholarship

    Successful applicants will be awarded a scholarship to assist with the costs of living in Colburne House.

    Mitton Scholarship

    Following the completion of their second year, Colburne House Scholarship recipients may apply to live in Mitton Court.  Successful applicants voluntarily surrender their Colburne House Scholarship and transfer to Mitton Court with the assistance of a newly-awarded Mitton Scholarship. The initially-awarded Colburne House Scholarship amounts for successful applicants will be adjusted to:

    Year 3 75% of initial award
    Year 4 85% of initial award

    ClayStone Certificate Award

    Demonstrating the value that Crandall University places on holistic growth, these awards are provided to qualifying ClayStone students up to an amount of $1,000. Applicants for this award will be assessed on their expressed commitment to the transformative objectives of the program as well as their ability to make a positive contribution to the other students in the program as evidenced in their program application.

    1950-1959 Alumni Bursary

    An annual bursary will be awarded to a full-time student with financial need who is enrolled in any year of any program at the University.  The recipient must have maintained a passing average.

    1960-1964 Alumni Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a student with scholastic capability that is average to above average and who evidences need of financial aid.  The recipient will be a child, secondly a grandchild, or then any other relative of an alumnus of UBBTS/ABC/ABU/Crandall who is enrolled in any program and in any year of study at the University.

    Agnes (Clements) Simmons Memorial Scholarship

    This memorial scholarship was established as a result of a bequest from the estate of the late Agnes (Clements) Simmons of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The proceeds will provide up to five annual scholarships to needy and worthy students first from Prince Edward Island and secondly from elsewhere.

    Alanna Greene Memorial Bursary

    The annual bursary was established in memory of Alanna Green who attended Crandall University. This bursary is to be awarded to a female student who is in financial need.  The recipient must intend to complete a degree to provide skills in teaching or mentoring to the benefit of others.

    Alumni and Friends Athletic Scholarship

    The income from an endowment fund shall be awarded to athletes who participate on an ACAA (or equivalent) university varsity team.  The eligible recipients will normally be first year students, but they may be transfer students, or returning students.  Men’s and women’s varsity student athletes are eligible for this award.  These awards are non-renewable.

    Alward Charitable Foundation Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a first year student who demonstrates financial need and who has a good academic standing.

    Atlantic Baptist Women’s Entrance Scholarships

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to students on the basis of academic performance.

    Atlantic Shellfish Products Inc. Scholarship

    Awarded to a student from Prince Edward Island who is enrolling or enrolled in a Business Program; or secondly in or into any other academic program.  An entrance student must have a 75% average; or available as a renewable award if same grade average is maintained annually.

    Bacon Memorial Bursary

    The Bacon Memorial Bursary was established in 1990, in memory of E. Catherine Bacon by her sister, Mrs. Florence Hamm of Kingston, Nova Scotia.  The bursary was established to allow the University to present a scholarship(s) to help student(s) who are having financial difficulties.

    Bartol Scholarship

    An entrance award into a full-time Religious or Biblical Studies Program; while maintaining a GPA or equivalent of at least 3.0.

    Dr. Brian T. Newbold Scholarship

    Awarded to an entering, returning or transfer student enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Science Program; preference studying Chemistry; maintaining a GPA of 3.0.

    Eligible recipients accepting an entrance award must reside on campus for first year. A returning or transfer student may live on or off campus.

    Rev. Cecil A. MacArthur Scholarship

    The scholarship is to be awarded to a new student whose academic record places them in the top fifteen percent of students applying to Crandall University and who has a parent actively serving in  full-time position as a recognized minister within a church which is a member church within the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada, or a parent who is employed with Canadian Baptist Ministries as field staff and serving in a country outside of North America.

    Christina Inman Bursary

    The income from an endowment, established in memory of Christina Inman, is to be awarded to a student or students wishing to pursue post-secondary education.  The recipient(s) must firstly be a graduate of Southern Victoria High School or Tobique Valley High School; secondly, a resident of Victoria or Carleton County; or thirdly, a New Brunswick student.

    ClayStone Student Bursary

    Preference to a student enrolled in the Claystone Program.  If program is non-existent then primarily granted to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Theology Program or secondly, enrolled in the Religious or Biblical Studies Program.

    Clyde and Norma Downey Science Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a student enrolled at Crandall University in the Bachelor of Science program.  The recipient will give evidence of sound academic ability, and will demonstrate that he or she has invested in his or her own educational costs through savings or employment and demonstrates evidence of financial need.

    Colburne Scholarship

    This scholarship, set up by the late Mrs. Ruth Colburne, donor of the Gorge Road Campus property, is to be used as an entrance scholarship.  The recipient must be a Baptist student(s) who is enrolled in full-time study in any program of study at Crandall and who is from Atlantic Canada.

    Cook Family Bursary

    The income from an endowment shall provide an annual entrance bursary to a student enrolling in his/her first year of studies who intends to live on Crandall’s campus; offering a fuller experience to the student while contributing to the overall growth of community and campus life.  The bursary is to be an encouragement to a first year student who has financial need.

    Crandall University Auxiliary Bursary

    An annual bursary shall be given to a student enrolling in his/her first year of studies who intends to live on Crandall’s campus.  The bursary shall then contribute to a fuller experience for the student while adding to the overall growth of the community and to campus life.  This award is also to be an encouragement to a first year student who has financial need as determined by the Financial Awards Committee.

    Crandall University Auxiliary International Student Bursary

    Awarded to first year international student enrolled in an undergrad or graduate program of study who resides on Crandall’s campus.

    Crystal Lawrence Bursary

    A bursary will be awarded to a student who faces additional challenges than those faced by most students; being possibly learning/physical/medical or another challenge, requiring the student to work harder in order to achieve their educational goals.

    Dr. Dannie Brown Business Scholarship

    Award #1 – Given to an undergraduate Business student.  Preference from New Brunswick, secondly, from Atlantic Canada and thirdly, from anywhere in Canada.  Minimum GPA of 2.7 or equivalent mark upon entering program.

    Award #2 – Given to a graduate Business student. Preference given to an international student with a minimum GPA of 3.7.

    Darrel A. Spencer Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship may be awarded as an entrance or a scholarship for a returning student.  The award recipient shall be a student from Carleton County, York County, Kings County, Victoria County or Northumberland County.  The recipient shall also be deemed in financial need by the Financial Awards Committee.

    Donald and Doris Murray Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide a renewable bursary based on financial need to students first from Penobsquis, New Brunswick; second from greater Sussex, New Brunswick; and third to any student enrolled at Crandall University.

    Rev. Douglas Campbell Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship will be awarded each year to a student, in any year of study, who intends to enter vocational Christian ministry.  Should no one qualify then the scholarship will be awarded to a student engaged in summer ministry.

    Ecclesiastical Insurance Scholarship

    Recipient is entering full-time studies in their first or second year of any program who was a community contributor during their high school years and who maintained a GPA of at least 3.0.

    Edith Avenue United Baptist Church Memorial Scholarship

    The interest from an endowment is to be awarded annually to a student from Saint John or Kings County, New Brunswick.

    EJP Scholarship

    As an entrance award the recipient must reside on campus for first year, or to a returning or transfer student enrolling full-time in any program of study residing on or off campus while maintaining a GPA between 2.30 and 3.33.

    Elder James Innis Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to a student entering the first year of studies and who is a member of the Central Norton United Baptist Church.  The recipient will be enrolled in any program of study offered by the University that would lead to a career in Christian service.  If there is no eligible recipient from Central Norton United Baptist Church, the award shall be presented secondly to a student of the Saint John-Kings Baptist Association, and thirdly to any student.

    Elizabeth (McLeod) O’Laughlin Bursary

    The bursary will be awarded to a student entering their first year of study at Crandall University and who is enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program.

    Ella B. McLeod Christian School Bursary

    Primary award to a graduating student from the Sussex Christian School; secondly to a graduating student from any ACSI Eastern Canada school who is entering his/her first year of studies in any program.  Eligible recipients must demonstrate Christian leadership, character and is active in their church, Sunday school and/or a camping ministry.

    Ella B. McLeod Entrance Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide an annual entrance bursary to be awarded firstly to a student who intends to pursue theological studies; secondly to a student entering any program that will lead to a career in Christian service; thirdly, to a student entering the Bachelor of Science program.

    Ella B. McLeod Science Bursary

    The annual entrance bursary shall be awarded firstly to a student who is entering his/her first year of studies and who is entering the Bachelor of Science Degree Program.  Should no one qualify then the award shall go to a student entering the Bachelor of Business Administration Program or finally to any student enrolling in any program at Crandall.

    Emerson and Pearl Carroll Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship may be awarded a student entering the concurrent Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) program at Crandall University who demonstrates academic achievement with an entrance average of at least 85%.  Preference will be given to an Atlantic Canada student entering the Bachelor of Business Administration along with a B.Th.  Should there be no one entering the Bachelor of Business Administration with B.Th, all other B.Th. concurrent programs will be considered.

    Eugene Dukeshire Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, established by Mr. and Mrs. Allan Dukeshire in memory of their son, will be awarded to a needy student(s).

    Faith Scholarship

    This scholarship, funded by an endowment, shall be awarded to a student entering or returning to Crandall University.  The eligible student shall preferably be a member of Faith Baptist Church in New Maryland, New Brunswick; secondly, a member of a church in the York or Queens Sunbury Baptist Association; thirdly, a member of a church within the Canadian Baptist Churches of Atlantic Canada.

    Florence P. Reeves Bursary

    The income from an endowment is awarded to a student who is training for vocational Christian ministry.

    Frank and Joanne Vincent Bursary

    Awarded to at least two students enrolled full-time in any year of any undergraduate or graduate degree program who evidence financial need.  The first eligible recipient shall be from Saint John, Kings County or, finally from anywhere in New Brunswick.   The second recipient shall have parents who are in parachurch or church ministry leadership attempting to support the domestic or international student recipient.

    Gladys Marsters Memorial Scholarship

    The income from a trust fund that will be managed by the Home Mission Board of Canadian Baptist Churches of Atlantic Canada is awarded annually to needy and deserving students.

    Global Missions Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a Christian student entering his/her first year of study in the Cross-Cultural Certificate Program, leading to a career in Christian service with a focus on Global Missions in a cross-cultural setting.  Should no one qualify under these criteria, the award will be presented to a committed Christian student entering any program leading to a career in Christian service.

    Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read Bursary

    Preference to one who is 20+ and enrolled or enrolling full-time in any undergraduate degree program while maintaining employment status and deemed in financial need.

    Gordon Food Service Bursary

    Given as an entrance award or to a full-time returning or transfer student enrolled in any program.  Entrance recipients must reside on campus for first year.  Returning or transfer students reside on campus while receiving award.

    Harold and Winifred Bamford Memorial Bursary

    The bursary shall be awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need, is enrolled in any program of study and is commencing studies in year one of their chosen program.

    Harvey Baptist (York) Church Bursary

    Awarded to a full-time student(s) enrolled or enrolling in any year or program of study in either an undergraduate or graduate program.

    Hazel J. MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student from Prince Edward Island enrolled in his/her first or second year of full-time study in any program and who has regularly attended or is a member of any church on PEI.  A deserving student will be defined as a student whose entering GPA approximates the average GPA of the proceeding year’s entering class, and a student who either has a student loan, or demonstrates initiative in funding their education.  The scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

    Henderson Bursary

    The bursary shall be awarded to a student enrolled in any year of study; and who is enrolled in any program of study and is deemed in financial need by the Financial Awards Committee.

    Hillman Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, established in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Merrill Hillman and their son, Merrill Allison Hillman of Woodstock, New Brunswick, will be awarded annually to a student enrolled in full-time studies at Crandall University who is preparing for full-time Christian service.

    Hiltz Family Scholarship

    The income from an endowment fund will provide an annual scholarship to a student from the Yarmouth area of Nova Scotia.  Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Youth Leadership Certificate program.  The scholarship may be renewable dependent upon the applicant’s continued enrolment in the Youth Leadership Certificate program.

    Hilyard and Gwendlyn Crossman Memorial Bursary

    Given to a full-time student enrolled in any year and program of study; preference to a member or adherent of Main Street Baptist Church in Sackville, NB or finally, to a student from New Brunswick.

    Irene McLeod Memorial Bursary

    The bursary shall be awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts, Business or Science or the concurrent Bachelor of Education degree program. There is no preference of program, all shall be equally considered.  The recipient shall be in any year of study who is traditionally considered a “first time in university” student who evidences need of financial assistance.  The bursary shall also be awarded to an above average student (deemed to be at least 85%) as calculated by the Admissions Office.

    Jack Madden Memorial Bursary

    Bursaries shall be awarded to students in any degree program, in any year of study, who evidence need of financial assistance to the satisfaction of the Financial Awards Committee.

    Janes Bursary

    Given to a student(s) enrolled in any year of study and program of study and who participates in Crandall’s Communication Arts Theatre Program.

    Jean (Betts) Taylor Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship has been established in honour and memory of Jean (Betts) Taylor who holds the distinction of being the first graduate of the United Baptist Bible Training School (now Crandall University).  The scholarship shall be awarded to an entering or returning student enrolled in any academic program who is from the Doaktown area of New Brunswick and who evidences both scholastic capability and financial need as determined by the University and who is Baptist by persuasion as evidenced by participation in a Baptist Church.  When no one qualifies in any given year due to the geographical criteria, the criteria expands to Northumberland County, New Brunswick, then the Province of New Brunswick, and then the Atlantic Provinces.

    Jean Saunders Irving Memorial Scholarship

    Given to a student in any year of study in a Biblical or Theological Studies program from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or lastly, from the Maritime Provinces who maintains a GPA between 2.30 and 3.33.

    Katherine Georgina (Taylor) Carroll Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be awarded each year to a student from Atlantic Canada who is entering their first year of study, in any program of study, and who has an average or above average scholastic capability.  The recipient must be a member or in good standing within a church of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.

    Kathleen (Kay) McLean Memorial Scholarship

    To a full-time student from Carleton County, NB enrolled in any year and program of study.  Preference to a committed Christian who has an interest in missions or ministry and maintains a GPA of at least 2.7.

    Lee Scholarship in Education

    The income from an endowment will be paid annually to a single parent or mature student with dependants who have resigned full-time employment to pursue full time studies leading to a Bachelor of Education degree.  The successful applicant will be a committed Christian, active in a local church.  The recipient will also demonstrate financial need to the extent that this scholarship would positively impact his/her enrolment at Crandall.

    Rev. Lew D. Farrell Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, established by a number of friends and associates of the late Rev. Farrell, will be awarded annually to a deserving student(s), who wish to further their education at Crandall University.

    Lewis and Shirley M. Pickett Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to support a deserving student(s) enrolled in the Cross-Cultural Certificate at Crandall University.   Preference will be given to a student involved in or having a strong interest in missions.

    Rev. Lorne and Florence Stairs Memorial Scholarship

    Scholarships shall be awarded to students enrolled in any degree program, in any year of study, who evidence need of financial assistance and who have a desire to serve the Lord in his/her profession and who has a Grade Point Average in the average or above average category.

    Lowther Education Scholarship

    Full-time students in the Bachelor of Education program are eligible also having demonstrated active involvement in their church, in campus life activities and/or community involvement.

    Malcolm H. Tracy Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship, which is the income of a gift from Hartland United Baptist Church, is awarded annually to a student or students who wish to further their education at Crandall University.

    Melda Cruikshank Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a needy student.

    Mildred P. MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student enrolled in his/her first or second year of full-time study at Crandall University.  The student will be a member of or in regular attendance at a Baptist church belonging to the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.  A deserving student will be defined as a student whose entering GPA approximates the average GPA of the proceeding year’s entering class, and a student who either has a student loan, or demonstrates initiative in funding his/her education.

    Muriel Crabbe Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a student in any year of study (entering or enrolled) in any program of study who is deemed in financial need.

    New Life Mission Bursary

    Awarded to a student entering any year and program of study; whose desire is to work in a church or parachurch ministry to support, mentor, counsel and/or teach children.

    Norman Allen and Melba McLeod Entrance Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide an annual entrance bursary to be awarded firstly to a student who intends to pursue theological studies; secondly to a student entering any program that will lead to a career in Christian service; thirdly, to a student entering the Bachelor of Science program.

    Olive Fynney Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to ex-offenders, international students, or a missionary home on furlough.

    Rev. Owen Dawe Memorial Bursary

    Awarded to a student in any year of a Biblical or Theological Studies program from New Brunswick or else the Maritime provinces.

    Paul E. Bubar Memorial Entrance Scholarship

    This scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student enrolled in any academic program who has graduated from one of the following New Brunswick high schools –Woodstock High School, Hartland Community School, or Carleton North High School.  The student will also have a GPA in the average to above average category and demonstrate financial need to the satisfaction of the awards committee.

    PERMACRETE ® Systems Scholarship

    Eligible full-time students will be entering their first or second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration Program; having maintained or maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0.

    Dr. Ralph Fitch Memorial Bursary

    The income from a trust fund will be awarded annually to a student from First Moncton United Baptist Church who is attending any program at Crandall University.  If there is no student that meets this criterion, any student studying at Crandall University may be eligible for the award.

    Ralph and Georgie Taylor Scholarship

    Priority for awarding this scholarship shall be to a student entering Crandall University, for the first time, whether as a concurrent or consecutive student of the Bachelor of Education Program.  The recipient must have an entrance average of at least 3.0 but also displays active leadership in extra-curricular activities with preference in athletics.

    Robert and Margaret MacQuade Bursary

    The income from an endowment shall be awarded to a student enrolled in any degree-granting program at Crandall University.  The eligible recipient shall be preferably from Victoria or Albert County, New Brunswick and demonstrates financial need.  The recipient will also be a member in a Baptist Church affiliated with Canadian Baptist Ministries.

    Robert G. Smith Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment is to be awarded annually to needy students.

    Robert William Taylor Scholarship

    Given to a student entering his/her first or second year of studies of a Business Program with above average scholarship capability who also possesses humility, a genuine zeal and passion to accomplish their academic goals.  The recipient must be from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or lastly, from Atlantic Canada.

    Roberta Jane MacGregor Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment, is awarded to students enrolled or enrolling in any program of stud who are deemed in need of financial assistance.

    Roy and Marjorie Friars Bursary

    An entrance bursary of $1000 or more shall be awarded to a first-year student who is enrolled in full-time studies in any program of study at Crandall University.  The award will be based on financial need.

    Saunders Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment, in memory of Rev. and Mrs. A.H. Saunders, is awarded annually to first year students enrolling in the Biblical Studies program.  Priority will be given to students who are members at Petitcodiac United Baptist Church; secondly, to a student from the Westmorland-Kent Baptist Association; thirdly, to a student(s) from other areas of Atlantic Canada.

    Shirley May (Hawkes) Campbell Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded each year to a student who intends to enter vocational Christian ministry.

    Should no one qualify then the scholarship shall be awarded to a student engaged in summer ministry.

    Stanley Pevlin and Elsie B. Pevlin Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to approximately 10 needy students who are enrolled in courses leading to ministry opportunities.  The scholarship is open to those who have a career goal of pastoral ministry as well as those in other disciplines such as the Youth Leadership Program and the Cross-Cultural Certificate.  Students may qualify if they are involved in any ministry activities while they are students at Crandall University.

    Stephen and Ella Steeves Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be used each year to award scholarships to deserving students who give evidence of financial need in order to fulfil their educational goals.  Scholarships are available for students in the top ten percent of their entering or returning class; in the average or above average academic range of their entering or returning class; and the below average range of their entering or returning class.

    Taylor Printing Bursary

    The entrance bursary shall be given annually to a student pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  Preference shall be to a student who will also be playing a varsity sport.

    Tennyson A. Walker Honorary Scholarship

    The awardee(s) must be a full-time student(s) entering the first year of the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree Program and who is the son or daughter of an employee of Lounsbury Company Limited who has a Grade Point Average from High School of at least 80%.  To be eligible for renewal of the scholarship in year two, the awardee(s) must achieve a GPA of 75% or higher for the first year of studies.  If no one qualifies under the preceding criteria then the award shall be given to any student who has the High School GPA of 80% in the core subjects and again, to be eligible for renewal in year two must achieve a GPA of 75%.

    Walter C. DeBow Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment has been established by Mrs. Walter DeBow in memory of her husband.  It is awarded to needy students.

    Weston Family Bursary

    The income from an endowment is to be directed on an annual basis to provide an award to a  Canadian-born students in need of financial assistance and who are enrolled in the University’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

    William and Eva Barrett Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide a renewable entrance bursary to a student enrolled in any program of study offered by the University.  Preference will be given to students from New Brunswick Anglophone School District – West (ASD-W) who can demonstrate financial need.  It is the desire of the donors that preference also be given, but not limited, to students from single parent homes.

    William and Jane MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to an academically qualified student enrolled in the Biblical Studies or Religious Studies program at Crandall University who demonstrates active involvement in a church and whose career goal is to enter full-time vocational Christian service. The scholarship is renewable when awarded under the full criteria as described.

    William Byron and Audrey McLeod Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide a bursary to be awarded annually to a student entering any year of full-time studies at Crandall University.  Preference will be given first to a student who intends to pursue theological studies, or a career in Christian service or finally to a student entering the Bachelor of Science Program.

    Winnifred Davis Bursary

    The income from a trust fund is made available by the First Moncton United Baptist Church, Moncton, New Brunswick.  This bursary is awarded to students who are preparing for vocational Christian ministry, on the basis of need.

    Winston A. Steeves Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is based on the income from an endowment, established as a result of a bequest from the estate of Winston A. Steeves.  The proceeds are to provide two annual scholarships to needy and worthy students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies or Religious Studies.  The estate wishes these scholarships to reward the faithful efforts of students who might not otherwise secure significant scholarship support.

    York Adam King Scholarship

    The income from the York Adam King Endowment is awarded annually to a student(s) from Havelock, Wheaton Settlement, Fawcett Hill, Lewis Mountain, Steeves Settlement, Petitcodiac, Hillgrove, and Corn Hill, New Brunswick.

    Zion United Baptist Church of Yarmouth Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be awarded to an entering or returning student from the greater Yarmouth, NS area.  Should there be a year when no one qualifies then the scholarship shall be awarded to a student in any degree program, in any year of study from any geographic area.

    1960-1964 Alumni Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a student who evidences scholastic capability that is average to above average and who evidences need of financial aid.  The recipient will be a child, secondly a grandchild, or then any other relative of an alumnus of UBBTS/ABC/ABU/Crandall who is enrolled in any program and in any year of study at the University.

    Agnes (Clements) Simmons Memorial Scholarship

    This memorial scholarship was established as a result of a bequest from the estate of the late Agnes (Clements) Simmons of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The proceeds will provide up to five annual scholarships to needy and worthy students first from Prince Edward Island and secondly from elsewhere.

    Alfred E. Wilbur Award

    The income from an endowment is awarded annually to the student who writes the best essay on the Protestant Reformation.

    Arthur and Grace Matheson Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually and equally to returning students from Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.  Awards are based on evidence of spiritual maturity and scholastic achievement and are normally made to returning students.

    Arthur and Jean Amos Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship will be awarded to a returning student who states or believes that he/she has been called into full-time Christian ministry and who plans to pursue theological study/career or missions after graduation and who is enrolled in any program of full-time study at Crandall University.

    Arthur C. Vincent Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to a returning student for academic excellence in Religious or Biblical Studies.

    Atlantic Shellfish Products Inc. Scholarship

    Awarded to a student from Prince Edward Island who is enrolling or enrolled in a Business Program; or secondly in or into any other academic program.  An entrance student must have a 75% average; or available as a renewable award if same grade average is maintained annually.

    Bacon Memorial Bursary

    The Bacon Memorial Bursary was established in 1990, in memory of E. Catherine Bacon by her sister, Mrs. Florence Hamm of Kingston, Nova Scotia.  The bursary was established to allow the University to present a scholarship(s) to help student(s) who are having financial difficulties.

    Dr. Brian T. Newbold Scholarship

    Awarded to an entering, returning or transfer student enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Science Program; preference studying Chemistry; maintaining a GPA of 3.0.

    Eligible recipients accepting an entrance award must reside on campus for first year. A returning or transfer student may live on or off campus.

    Carmen and Geraldine Moir Scholarship

    The income from this scholarship fund is to be awarded annually to a returning student in the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Business Administration program who demonstrates academic achievement defined as a grade point average of at least 3.3.  Preference will be given to a student from Atlantic Canada.

    Catherine Geldart Memorial Bursary

    The bursary will be awarded to a student enrolled in any year or studies who intends to pursue theological or religious studies; preference is to be given to a student from the greater Petitcodiac area of New Brunswick.  Should no one meet the geographical criteria the student selected should be from South Eastern New Brunswick.

    ClayStone Student Bursary

    Preference to a student enrolled in the Claystone Program.  If program is non-existent then primarily granted to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Theology Program or secondly, enrolled in the Religious or Biblical Studies Program.

    Clyde and Norma Downey Science Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a student enrolled at Crandall University in the Bachelor of Science program.  The recipient will give evidence of sound academic ability, and will demonstrate that he or she has invested in his or her own educational costs through savings or employment, or demonstrates evidence of financial need.

    Crandall Student Association Scholarship

    One who is returning to full-time studies and in the previous year volunteered time toward internal service such as a member of the CSA, a student ambassador or leader within a worship team or chapel program who maintains a B average.

    Crandall University Alumni Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to deserving students who are returning to the University.

    Crandall University Single Parent Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be awarded to a student who is a single parent with one or more dependent children, who has successfully completed at least one full year of study at the University and who has demonstrated sufficient scholastic ability so as to normally be able to complete a university degree.  The recipient shall demonstrate financial need, which may include working part-time or full-time while studying, or needing to secure student loans in order to attend university.

    Crandall University Student Association Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to deserving students nominated by the administration of Crandall University.

    Crystal Lawrence Bursary

    A bursary will be awarded to a student who faces additional challenges than those faced by most students; being possibly learning/physical/medical or another challenge, requiring the student to work harder in order to achieve their educational goals.

    Dan Hawkins Memorial Bursary

    The bursary award shall be given annually to a student who is enrolled in second, third, or fourth year studies at Crandall and who is enrolled in the Biblical Studies program.

    Dr. Daniel Goodwin Scholarship

    One from Atlantic Canada entering third year full-time studies of the Bachelor of Arts Program while maintaining a GPA of 3.0.

    Dr. Dannie Brown Business Scholarship

    Award #1 – Given to an undergraduate Business student.  Preference from New Brunswick, secondly, from Atlantic Canada and thirdly, from anywhere in Canada.  Minimum GPA of 2.7 or equivalent mark upon entering program.

    Award #2 – Given to a graduate Business student. Preference given to an international student with a minimum GPA of 3.7.

    Darrel A. Spencer Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship may be awarded as an entrance or a scholarship for a returning student.  The award recipient shall be a student from Carleton County, York County, Kings County, Victoria County or Northumberland County.  The recipient shall also be deemed in financial need by the Financial Awards Committee.

    David A. Smith Memorial Scholarship

    The income of an endowment is to be awarded annually to returning Dean’s List students.

    Donald and Doris Murray Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide a renewable bursary based on financial need to students first from Penobsquis, New Brunswick; secondly from greater Sussex, New Brunswick; and thirdly to any student enrolled at Crandall University.

    Dorothy (Dolly) Crowell Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment, in honour of Mrs. Dorothy Crowell, shall be awarded annually to a female student in at least the third year of an undergraduate program and who has returned to school from the workforce or who has experienced an extended  absence from formal education due to such examples as childcare. The recipient will have past involvement in service-related work or volunteerism and will be recognized within the University community as a committed and faithful student.

    Rev. Douglas Campbell Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship will be awarded each year to a student, in any year of study, who intends to enter vocational Christian ministry.  Should no one qualify then the scholarship will be awarded to a student engaged in summer ministry.

    Ecclesiastical Insurance Scholarship

    Recipient is entering full-time studies in their first or second year of any program who was a community contributor during their high school years and who maintained a GPA of at least 3.0.

    Edith Avenue United Baptist Church Memorial Scholarship

    Interest from an endowment is to be awarded annually to a student from Saint John or Kings County, New Brunswick.

    EJP Scholarship

    As an entrance award the recipient must reside on campus for first year or to a returning or transfer student enrolling full-time in any program of study residing on or off campus while maintaining a GPA between 2.30 and 3.33.

    Eric and Jean Smith Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be awarded firstly to a direct descendant of the founding principal, Rev. Myron and Mrs. Elaine Brinton.  Should no one qualify then the award shall be open to any student, who again must be entering his/her third or fourth year of studies who has a GPA between 2.67 and 3.33 and is enrolled in either the Business, Education or Religious Studies Programs.

    Rev. Ernest J. Sperring Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be awarded to students in any degree program, in their third or fourth year of study, who state that their career goal is to enter full-time Christian ministry as a pastor, youth pastor or associate pastor in a specified ministry, and who evidences (a) spiritual character, (b) a call to ministry, and (c) has achieved a GPA of 3.67 in the academic year prior to being awarded the scholarship.

    Eslie and Esther Long Memorial Scholarship

    Full-time student in second or subsequent year who maintains B+ average and is enrolled in Biblical or Religious Studies or the Bachelor of Theology partnership program.  Involvement in music or worship leadership is favorably considered.

    Ethel and Freeman Fenerty Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment shall be awarded as a scholarship to a student who demonstrates financial need and is enrolled in any program of study offered by Crandall University.  The eligible student must have at least a “C” average at the end of year one in studies at the University and have no mark below a “D”.

    Eugene Dukeshire Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, established by Mr. and Mrs. Allan Dukeshire in memory of their son, will be awarded to a needy student(s).

    Eva M. Vail Memorial Bursary

    The Memorial Award will be offered annually to a full-time 2nd year student who is enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at Crandall University.

    Faith Scholarship

    This scholarship, funded by an endowment, shall be awarded to a student entering or returning to Crandall University.  The eligible student shall preferably be a member of Faith Baptist Church in New Maryland, New Brunswick; secondly, a member of a church in the York or Queens Sunbury Baptist Association; or if necessary, thirdly, to a member of a church within the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.

    Florence P. Reeves Bursary

    The income from an endowment is awarded to a student who is training for vocational Christian ministry.

    Frank and Joanne Vincent Bursary

    Awarded to at least two students enrolled full-time in any year of any undergraduate or graduate degree program who evidence financial need.  The first eligible recipient shall be from Saint John, Kings County or, finally from anywhere in New Brunswick.   The second recipient shall have parents who are in parachurch or church ministry leadership attempting to support the domestic or international student recipient.

    Frederick and Nadine Taylor Charitable Foundation Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a returning student enrolled in any program of study at Crandall University.  The recipient will exhibit strong academic standing along with demonstrated financial need.  Preference will be given to students from Greater Moncton first, the Province of New Brunswick secondly, and Atlantic Canada thirdly.

    George W. Smith Memorial Bursary

    The income from a trust fund is to be awarded annually to the top student within the Christian Foundations Program.

    Gladys Marsters Memorial Scholarship

    The income from a trust fund that will be managed by the Home Mission Board of Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada is awarded annually to needy and deserving students.

    Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read Award for Inspirational Teaching

    This award shall be offered to graduates from the Bachelor of Education program and presented at Convocation to one or more recipients who have demonstrated in their development within the Education program and in their practicum teaching an above average gifting or calling as a teacher, evidenced by a love for children and for working with children, including the ability to inspire students to excel in their learning whereby students discover the joy of learning.

    Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read Bursary

    Preference to one who is 20+ and enrolled or enrolling full-time in any undergraduate degree program while maintaining employment status and deemed in financial need.

    Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read 4th Year Business Student Scholarship

    One or more annual scholarships are to be presented to students who have completed their third year in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program and while entering their 4th year have demonstrated academic diligence and a keen interest in business ethics.  Preference shall be given to students whose GPA has increased in years two and three as compared to year one and who are seen as most promising future graduates in terms of applying ethical standards based on a Christian worldview within their future practice of business.

    Gordon Food Service Bursary

    Given as an entrance award or to a full-time returning or transfer student enrolled in any program.  Entrance recipients must reside on campus for first year.  Returning or transfer students reside on campus while receiving award.

    H.J. Stultz Family Foundation Scholarship

    This scholarship is to be awarded annually to one or more students enrolled at Crandall University who have evidenced exemplary overall improvement in their academic progress while demonstrating promise of future effectiveness in leadership because of their personal faith, positive interpersonal relationships, and/or involvement in extra-curricular activities. The scholarship will be awarded to students whose GPA has increased by at least 5%.

    Harold and Ruth Wilbur Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a student who evidences a need for financial assistance, all while possessing strength of Christian commitment and character, and the ability to successfully complete academic programs at Crandall University.

    Harris and Blanche Brannen Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to one or two returning students who demonstrate maturity in their personal lives and diligence in their studies.

    Harvey Baptist (York) Church Bursary

    Awarded to a full-time student(s) enrolled or enrolling in any year or program of study in either an undergraduate or graduate program.

    Hazel J. MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student  from Prince Edward Island enrolled in his/her first or second year of full-time study in any program and who has regularly attended or is a member of any church on PEI.  A deserving student will be defined as a student whose entering GPA approximates the average GPA of the proceeding year’s entering class, and a student who either has a student loan, or demonstrates initiative in funding their education.  The scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

    Henderson Bursary

    The bursary shall be awarded to a student enrolled in any year of study; and who is enrolled in any program of study and is deemed in financial need by the Financial Awards Committee.

    Henri and Marjorie Lanctin Bursary

    The purpose of this endowed fund is to award an annual bursary to a francophone student enrolled at Crandall University who demonstrates a desire to share his/her Christian faith with other francophone students.  The bursary may, secondarily, be awarded to a Christian student who has shown the most improvement in a French language course while demonstrating a desire to share his/her Christian faith with other francophone students.

    Hillman Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, established in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Merrill Hillman and their son, Merrill Allison Hillman of Woodstock, New Brunswick, will be awarded annually to a student enrolled in full-time studies at Crandall University who is preparing for full-time Christian service.

    Hiltz Family Scholarship

    The income from an endowment fund will provide an annual scholarship to a student commencing studies in year two or later and who is from the Yarmouth area of Nova Scotia.  Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Youth Leadership Certificate program or an equivalent program.  The scholarship may be renewable dependent upon the applicant’s continued enrolment in the Youth Leadership Certificate program.  Should no one qualify the income may be awarded to a first year student from Yarmouth who is in any program of study.

    Hilyard and Gwendlyn Crossman Memorial Bursary

    Given to a full-time student enrolled in any year and program of study; preference to a member or adherent of Main Street Baptist Church in Sackville, NB or finally, to a student from New Brunswick.

    Rev. Horace Morgan Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment shall be awarded to a deserving student enrolled in full-time studies at Crandall University and who is intending to enter Christian service.

    Irene McLeod Memorial Bursary

    The bursary shall be awarded to a full-time student enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts, Business or Science or the concurrent Bachelor of Education degree program. There is no preference of program, all shall be equally considered.  The recipient shall be in any year of study who is traditionally considered a “first time in university” student who evidences need of financial assistance.  The bursary shall also be awarded to an above average student (deemed to be at least 85%) as calculated by the Admissions Office.

    Jack Madden Memorial Bursary

    Bursaries shall be awarded to students in any degree program, in any year of study, who evidence need of financial assistance to the satisfaction of the Financial Awards Committee.

    Janes Bursary

    Given to a student(s) enrolled in any year of study and program of study and who participates in Crandall’s Communication Arts Theatre Program.

    Jean (Betts) Taylor Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship has been established in honour and memory of Jean (Betts) Taylor who holds the distinction of being the first graduate of the United Baptist Bible Training School (now Crandall University).  The scholarship shall be awarded to an entering or returning student enrolled in any academic program who is from the Doaktown area of New Brunswick and who evidences both scholastic capability and financial need as determined by the University and who is Baptist by persuasion as evidenced by participation in a Baptist Church.  When no one qualifies in any given year due to the geographical criteria, the criteria expands to Northumberland County, New Brunswick, then the Province of New Brunswick, and then the Atlantic Provinces.

    Jean Saunders Irving Memorial Scholarship

    Given to a student in any year of study in a Biblical or Theological Studies program from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or lastly, from the Maritime Provinces who maintains a GPA between 2.30 and 3.33.

    KASTEL Bursary

    The bursary shall be awarded to a student in any year of study and in the Bachelor of Education program who is a member or adherent of Brunswick Street Baptist Church and evidences financial need.  Should no one qualify under Criteria A, the award shall be given to a Bachelor of Education student from a Baptist Church within New Brunswick or within Atlantic Canada.

    This award may be renewable.

    Kathleen (Kay) Dorothea McLean Memorial Scholarship

    To a full-time student from Carleton County, NB enrolled in any year and program of study.  Preference to a committed Christian who has an interest in missions or ministry and maintains a GPA of at least 2.7.

    Knowles Family Scholarship

    The recipient must be enrolled full-time in their second, third or fourth year of the Religious or Biblical Studies Program having maintained a GPA of at least 3.0 in previous year.

    Lee Scholarship in Education

    The income from an endowment will be paid annually to a single parent or mature student with dependants who have resigned full-time employment to pursue full time studies leading to a Bachelor of Education degree.  The successful applicant will be a committed Christian, active in a local church.  The recipient will also demonstrate financial need to the extent that this scholarship would positively impact his/her enrolment at Crandall.

    Rev. Lew D. Farrell Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, established by a number of friends and associates of the late Rev. Farrell, will be awarded annually to a deserving student(s), who wish to further their education at Crandall University

    Lewis and Shirley M. Pickett Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to support a deserving student(s) enrolled in the Cross-Cultural Certificate at Crandall University.   Preference will be given to a student involved in or having a strong interest in missions.

    Rev. Lorne and Florence Stairs Memorial Scholarship

    Scholarships shall be awarded to students enrolled in any degree program, in any year of study, who evidence need of financial assistance and who have a desire to serve the Lord in his/her profession and who has a Grade Point Average in the average or above average category.

    Lowther Education Scholarship

    Full-time students in the Bachelor of Education program are eligible also having demonstrated active involvement in their church, in campus life activities and/or community involvement.

    Malcolm H. Tracy Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship, which is the income of a gift from Hartland United Baptist Church, is awarded annually to a student or students who wish to further their education at Crandall University.

    Mark William Hudson Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment is to be awarded annually to one or more deserving, returning student(s) enrolled in any program of study offered by the University.

    Melda Cruikshank Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a needy student.

    Mildred P. MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student enrolled in his/her first or second year of full-time study at Crandall University.  The student will be a member of or in regular attendance at a Baptist church belonging to the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.  A deserving student will be defined as a student whose entering GPA approximates the average GPA of the proceeding year’s entering class, and a student who either has a student loan, or demonstrates initiative in funding his/her education.

    Morley and Joy Shaw Bursary

    An annual bursary will be awarded to a student, preferably from Nova Scotia, enrolled in his/her third or fourth year of full-time study at Crandall University.  The student will feel called to Christian ministry, with plans to attend Acadia Divinity College to pursue theological education.

    Muriel Crabbe Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to a student in any year of study (entering or enrolled) and in any program of study who is deemed to have a financial need.

    Dr. Myron and Elaine Brinton Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will provide annual scholarship(s) to be awarded to student(s) returning to full-time studies for their third or fourth year.  Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Biblical Studies or Religious Studies.  The recipient must have a GPA at the conclusion of their second or third year or whatever grade letter is equivalent to at least an 80%.

    New Brunswick School Trustees Association Scholarship

    The income from a permanent endowment will provide an ongoing and non-renewable scholarship to be awarded annually to students entering their third, fourth, or final years of undergraduate studies in the concurrent Bachelor of Education degree program, or to students who have completed their undergraduate degree and are entering the second year of the consecutive Bachelor of Education degree program.

    New Life Mission Bursary

    Awarded to a student entering any year and program of study; whose desire is to work in a church or parachurch ministry to support, mentor, counsel and/or teach children.

    Olive Fynney Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to ex-offenders, international students or a missionary home on furlough.

    Rev. Owen Dawe Memorial Bursary

    Awarded to a student in any year of a Biblical or Theological Studies program from New Brunswick or else the Maritime provinces.

    Paul E. Bubar Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship shall be awarded annually to a returning student enrolled in any academic program who has graduated from one of the following New Brunswick High Schools – Woodstock High School, Hartland Community School, or Carleton North High School.  The student shall also have a GPA in the average to above average category and demonstrate financial need to the satisfaction of the awards committee.

    PERMACRETE ® Systems Scholarship

    Eligible full-time students will be entering their first or second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration Program; having maintained or maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0.

    Dr. Ralph Fitch Memorial Bursary

    The income from a trust fund will be awarded annually to a student from First Moncton United Baptist Church who is attending any program at Crandall University.  If there is no student that meets this criterion, any student studying at Crandall University may be eligible for the award.

    Dr. W. Ralph Richardson Scholarship

    The income from a permanent endowment will be awarded annually to returning students enrolled in any degree program at the University with evidence of a strong interest in Religious Studies and the integration of faith and learning.  Applicants must place in the top 25% of their class and present a 500 word essay demonstrating their understanding of the importance of the integration of faith and learning in their disciplines.  The scholarship is renewable subject to the student achieving a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  The scholarship will never exceed the cost of tuition for the year of study in which it is awarded.

    Robert and Margaret MacQuade Bursary

    The income from an endowment shall be awarded to a student enrolled in any degree-granting program at Crandall University.

    The eligible recipient shall be preferably from Victoria or Albert County, New Brunswick and demonstrates financial need.  The recipient will also be a member in a Baptist Church affiliated with Canadian Baptist Ministries.

    Dr. Robert and Myrna Wilson Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually to 3rd or 4th year History majors on the basis of academic performance.

    Robert G. Smith Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment is to be awarded annually to needy students.

    Robert William Taylor Scholarship

    Given to a student entering his/her first or second year of studies of a Business Program with above average scholarship capability who also possesses humility, a genuine zeal and passion to accomplish their academic goals.  The recipient must be from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or lastly, from Atlantic Canada.

    Roberta Jane MacGregor Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment is awarded to students enrolled or enrolling in any program of study who are deemed to be in need of financial assistance.

    Roger and Bettie Farrer Cross-Cultural Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled in any program of study and who feels called to service in some international cross-cultural form of Christian ministry; who is a member of the Newcastle United Baptist Church (1st choice), or actively involved at Hillside United Baptist Church (2nd choice), and who has a Grade Point Average in the average to above average category and who demonstrates financial need.

    Roger and Bettie Farrer Education Scholarship

    This scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Education program.  First preference is to be given to a student who is either a member or actively attends the Newcastle United Baptist Church in Miramichi; secondly, to a student who is either a member or actively involved at the Hillside Baptist Church in Moncton; who is in the Education Program and who has a GPA in the average to above average category and demonstrates financial need to the satisfaction of the Financial Awards Committee.

    Rupert and Joyce Tingley Scholarship

    This award will be given to a student enrolled in an academic program that normally leads to a career in Business Administration, Education, or Social Work.  Eligible students would be in their 2nd to 5th years and must have placed in the top half of their class in the previous academic year as determined by GPA.  Preference will be given to students from New Brunswick.

    Rev. Seth W. Crowell Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment, established in memory of the late Rev. Crowell, will be awarded annually to two students.  The first $500 of this bursary will be awarded to a male graduate of Crandall University who plans to continue his studies at Acadia Divinity College.  The remaining proceeds will be awarded to a male student or students (should no one be enrolling at ADC) still studying at Crandall University.  All recipients will be students who have an equally strong commitment to their studies and to serving people and who have returned to school from the workplace.

    Shirley May (Hawkes) Campbell Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is based on the income of an endowment and is awarded each year to students, in any year of study, who intend to enter vocational Christian ministry.  Grants may be awarded to students engaged in summer ministry.

    Stanford Reid Scholarship

    The income from an endowment, given by Mrs. Priscilla Reid and Dr. Robert S. Wilson is given to the returning student with the highest standing in History.

    Stanley Pevlin and Elsie B. Pevlin Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to approximately 10 needy students who are enrolled in courses leading to ministry opportunities.  The scholarship is open to those who have a career goal of pastoral ministry, youth pastor or associate in youth ministry, associate in Christian education, relief worker or missionary with a denominational or Parachurch ministry, or as a teacher in an elementary/secondary Christian School.

    Stephen and Ella Steeves Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be used each year to award scholarships to deserving students who give evidence of financial need in order to fulfil their educational goals.  Scholarships are available for students in the top ten percent of their entering or returning class; in the average or above average academic range of their entering or returning class; and the below average range of their entering or returning class.

    Stephen Henry Memorial Bursary

    The income from an endowment will be awarded to a returning student who is a member of a church belonging to the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and is planning to be ordained for full-time Christian pastoral ministry or preparing for appointment by a Christian agency for cross-cultural ministry.  Should no one qualify under those criteria, the award shall be presented secondly, to a student who is a member of a church belonging to the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada who is planning to enter any other form of full-time Christian ministry commonly recognized to be such within the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada; thirdly, to a student who is a member of any Christian church who is planning to be ordained or appointed for cross-cultural ministry; fourthly, to a student who is a member of any Christian church who is planning to enter any other form of full-time Christian ministry.

    Stuart and Roberta Murray Scholarship

    The income from an endowment established by Stuart and Roberta Murray in memory of their parents, Sydney and Adelia Murray, and Joseph and Gladys Steeves shall be awarded annually to a student registered in either Greek or Hebrew.

    Trevor and Wanda Jones Scholarship

    Given to a student in second year or higher of a Business or Education Program and having maintained a GPA of 2.5 when entering the award year.

    Trevor Nason Memorial Science Bursary

    An annual bursary will be awarded to a senior student (third or fourth year) enrolled in or graduating from the Science program and who demonstrates a desire to continue into either Education or Science (including the health professions) post-graduate programs and fosters enthusiasm for science in the general population by participation in public events.

    Walter C. DeBow Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment has been established by Mrs. Walter DeBow in memory of her husband.  It is awarded to needy students.

    Weston Family Bursary

    The income from an endowment is to be directed on an annual basis to provide an award to Canadian-born students in need of financial assistance and who are enrolled in the University’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

    William Byron and Audrey McLeod Bursary

    The income from an endowment will provide a bursary to be awarded annually to a student entering any year of full-time studies at Crandall University.  Preference will be given first to a student who intends to pursue theological studies, or secondly, any program leading to a career in Christian service and thirdly to a student entering the Bachelor of Science program.

    William and Jane MacArthur Memorial Scholarship

    An annual scholarship will be awarded to an academically qualified student enrolled in the Biblical Studies or Religious Studies program at Crandall University who demonstrates active involvement in a church and whose career goal is to enter full-time vocational Christian service. The scholarship is renewable when awarded under the full criteria as described.

    Winnifred Davis Bursary

    The income from a trust fund is made available by the First Moncton United Baptist Church, Moncton, New Brunswick.  This bursary is awarded to students who are preparing for vocational Christian ministry, on the basis of need.

    Winston A. Steeves Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is based on the income from an endowment, established as a result of a bequest from the estate of Winston A. Steeves.  The proceeds are to provide two annual scholarships to needy and worthy students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies or Religious Studies.  The estate wishes these scholarships to reward the faithful efforts of students who might not otherwise secure significant scholarship support.

    Wright Memorial Scholarship

    The income from an endowment will be awarded annually in memory of Mabel and Ira Benjamin Wright to a returning student who has demonstrated excellence in History.

    York Adam King Scholarship

    The income from the York Adam King Endowment is awarded annually to a student(s) from Havelock, Wheaton Settlement, Fawcett Hill, Lewis Mountain, Steeves Settlement, Petitcodiac, Hillgrove, and Corn Hill, New Brunswick.

    Zion United Baptist Church of Yarmouth Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be awarded to an entering or returning student from the greater Yarmouth, NS area.  Should there be a year when no one qualifies then the scholarship shall be awarded to a student in any degree program, in any year of study from any geographic area.

    Entrance scholarships are offered to ALL eligible Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management students at the time of their acceptance into full-time enrolment in the Adult Professional Studies Division of the University.

    Dr. Seth Crowell Entrance Scholarship

    The Dr. Seth Crowell Entrance Scholarships, each valued at $1000, are payable in equal amounts of $500 at the beginning of Semesters III and IV to those students with continuous enrolment and a cumulative GPA of 3.67 at the time of the respective disbursements. It is not payable to a student when they withdraw from the Organizational Management program for more than one semester but remains fully payable to a student who withdraws from the program for less than one semester. All students who are fully funded by their employer are not eligible for this Entrance Scholarship.

    There is no limit on the number of these entrance scholarships awarded in a given year. These entrance scholarships may be offered in addition to other scholarships, awards, and bursaries offered by the University.

    Alumni and Friends Athletic Scholarship

    The income from an endowment fund shall be awarded to athletes who participate on an ACAA (or equivalent) university varsity team.  The eligible recipients will normally be first year students, but they may be transfer students, or returning students. Men’s and women’s varsity student athletes are eligible for this award.  These awards are non-renewable.

    Charger Athletics Excellence Scholarships

    To recognize exceptional athletes who demonstrate significant academic accomplishments and commitment to the Christian faith. These scholarships are equivalent to, or a portion of, the cost of tuition for the academic year.  These scholarships may be renewable.

    Colburne and Mitton Housing Athletic Awards

    To recognize exceptional athletes who demonstrate commitment to the Christian faith, these awards consist of the value of one bed, in a double room, in on-campus housing first through Colburne House, and then, if no space remains in Colburne House, in Mitton Court.  This award may be renewable. This award may not be combined with other housing awards.

    Idris James Morris Athletic Scholarship

    To recognize exceptional athletes who demonstrate commitment to the Christian faith, the income from an endowment will provide an annual entrance scholarship to a student enrolled in any degree program at Crandall University who has been recruited into the athletics program to be a member of an official University athletic team. This award is non-renewable.

    International Player Excellence Awards

    To recognize exceptional international athletes who demonstrate commitment to the Christian faith, these awards assist with the cost of the international tuition up to $1,000 for students from the United States of America, and up to $3,000 for students outside of North America.  These awards may be renewable.

    All Athletic Scholarships and Awards are also subject to Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association and the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association regulations.  Awards will be granted in accordance with the regulations of these, or other relevant, athletic governance bodies.

    These bursaries are designed to reimburse students who traveled a significant distance to attend an Admissions event on the Crandall University campus and who then enroll at the University.

    Accordingly, students who have traveled from outside of the Maritime Provinces to attend a recognized Admissions event (i.e. Open House, Campus Visit Day, etc.) and then enroll at Crandall are eligible.  The Travel Bursary is a one-time award to the student of up to $500 toward the student’s first year of full-time study.

    This bursary is offered to students who submit a Travel Bursary Application Form detailing travel costs involved in visiting Crandall for an admissions event to the Admissions & Financial Awards Office by September 30 in their first semester of classes.     The federal government also provides excellent information on grants, bursaries, and scholarships.  Additionally information on budgeting for education, tax deductions, additional sources of funds, and more is available through the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada

    Keith and Carol Wilson Scholarship

    Hillcrest Baptist Church awards scholarships from the income of a trust fund annually to students in need of financial assistance who wish to further their education at Crandall University.   Preference will be given to members of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and then to members of other Baptist Churches within a 75 km radius of Saint John, New Brunswick. Application Form  (Applications must be submitted, prior to June 30 each year, to 476 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L7)

    Winnifred Davis Bursary

    The income from a trust fund is made available by the First Moncton United Baptist Church, Moncton, New Brunswick.  This bursary is awarded to students who are preparing for vocational Christian ministry, on the basis of need.

    Workplace and service clubs

    Students may also be able to access awards through their parents’ or guardians’ workplaces, service clubs, local churches, associations, and more.  Please discuss this with your family.

    Yarmouth Association Training Commission Bursaries

    These bursaries are available to students from Yarmouth Baptist Association churches who are preparing for full-time Christian ministry.  Students must apply to the Yarmouth Association for this scholarship.

    First time university students are eligible to apply for Chancellor’s, Vice-Chancellor’s, President’s, Dean’s Leadership & Service Scholarships, and Colburne and Mitton Campus Housing Scholarships. In order to be considered for one of these scholarships please remember to attach your letter of application with your Application for Financial Awards.     Returning students who wish to apply for the Dr. W. Ralph Richardson Scholarship please attach your 500 word essay with your Scholarship/Bursary Application. More information can be found below.

    Financial Awards are often given based primarily on the applicant’s courses used to calculate the entrance requirements to a program of the University and/or on their letter of application. A student may request a re-evaluation of their assessment via a formal letter of request to the Financial Awards Committee, should they feel their award values should be altered, or if the student performs better academically in the semester following their award application.
