Student Funding

Canada Emergency Student Benefit

The Government of Canada has announced that applications for the Canada Emergency Student Benefit will be available online beginning on Friday, May 15.  If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has not qualified for the CERB, you may be eligible for this new program.

To be eligible:

  • You must be enrolled in post-secondary studies, have recently completed your studies (December 31, 2019, or later), or be a high school graduate this year.
  • You are unable to work or unable to find work due to COVID-19, or you are working, but your monthly income is less than $1,000.

For further information, please visit the Government of Canada website.

Changes to the Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP)

Students will be able to access additional loans and grants through the program. Low income grants will be doubled to $6,000 per academic year, weekly maximum student loan levels will increase from $210 to $350, and student and spousal contribution limits will be removed to reflect the loss of personal and family income during the pandemic.

Entrance Scholarships

Entrance scholarships are still available to new high school and transfer applicants entering a Bachelor of Arts (excluding Organizational Management), Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Business Administration program. Please contact admissions@crandallu.ca for more information!

New Applicants

The Crandall University Admissions Office is committed to supporting you during the COVID-19 situation. In doing so, please see below the temporary changes we have made to the application process.

If you have any questions about the status of your application or the documentation required to complete your application, please don’t hesitate to contact our Admissions Team at admissions@crandallu.ca

Transcripts

Unofficial high school and post-secondary transcripts will be accepted at this time. We encourage you to email transcripts to the Admissions Office (admissions@crandallu.ca).

Crandall is currently accepting students into the Arts, Business, and Science programs based on their first semester Grade 12 marks, combined with grade 11 courses where needed. We are accepting high school university preparatory classes from students who have completed the current academic year as either enrolled or for credit. However, we also strongly recommend students interested in the Bachelor of Science program to complete their Grade 12 Biology and Grade 12 Chemistry, for credit, if available at their school.

Crandall will continue to be flexible where possible and adapt to changing circumstances to remove any barriers to completion of the application process.

I am currently in grade 11. How will school closures impact my admission for Fall 2021?

Students currently in grade 11 will still be eligible to apply for early admission. Applications for Fall 2021 will open on September 15, 2020.  We will be looking for you to have been enrolled in English 11 and four other grade 11 academic courses. A grading notation of either credit (CR) or enrolled (ENR) in all second-semester courses will not negatively affect your admission. We will be looking for a minimum admission average of 70%, which will be calculated based on your mid-year grade 11 English mark and four other grade 11 academic courses completed in the first semester.

Accepted Applicants for September 2020

If you have received an offer of admission, we have made the decision to finalize admission offers based on your current admission average. We are aware that educational jurisdictions are adjusting their evaluation methods and that your final transcript may not include final grades. Please be assured that changes in grading processes will not negatively affect your admission. Final unofficial high school and post-secondary transcripts will be accepted at this time and can be emailed to admissions@crandallu.ca. Please contact your Admissions Counsellor for any questions or concerns.

I have been conditionally accepted. Does my offer of admission still stand?

Yes. Applicants holding an active offer of admission are eligible to begin their studies at Crandall in September 2020. Please be assured that changes in grading processes will not negatively affect your admission.

Will this impact my scholarship offer?

No, please be assured that changes in grading processes will not negatively affect your scholarship offer from Crandall. All active scholarship offers will be honoured.
