Crandall University is pleased to welcome Dr. Adedapo Adeola as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry, bringing extensive experience in chemistry research, teaching, and student mentorship.
Drawn to Crandall’s commitment to academic excellence, faith-based learning, and community engagement, Dr. Adeola saw the position as a unique opportunity to combine a passion for science education with a desire to mentor students within a Christian higher education environment. The university’s mission of developing students intellectually, spiritually, and socially closely aligns with his own personal and professional values.
Dr. Adeola holds a PhD in Chemistry and has built an accomplished academic career focused on environmental chemistry, materials science, and water treatment. His research has centered on developing sustainable materials and technologies for water purification and environmental remediation, and he has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications.
Before joining Crandall, Dr. Adeola served as a lecturer at Adekunle Ajasin University and held teaching and postdoctoral research appointments at University of Johannesburg and Concordia University. Most recently, he was awarded the highly competitive Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship for Black and Indigenous Scholars at York University, where he worked on sustainable approaches to improving drinking water quality and management.
As he begins his work at Crandall, Dr. Adeola is focused on supporting student success through engaging teaching, mentorship, and academic support. He also hopes to expand opportunities for student research, encourage collaborative learning, and help students strengthen both their scientific knowledge and critical thinking skills. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader Crandall community.
Looking ahead, Dr. Adeola hopes his work will have a lasting impact on students both inside and outside the classroom. “I hope to inspire students to pursue excellence in their academic and professional journeys while cultivating curiosity, integrity, and a commitment to serving others,” he said.
Dr. Adeola is relocating from Toronto to Moncton with his wife and children. The family is looking forward to becoming part of both the Crandall and Moncton communities and is eager to explore the natural beauty, culture, and family-friendly activities that New Brunswick has to offer. In their free time, the family enjoys spending time outdoors, participating in sports, engaging in church and community activities, and discovering new places together.
Dr. Adeola will be on campus starting in July.
