Alumni Spotlight – Moriah Ohlhauser

Throughout the year, we feature Crandall alumni by sharing their stories. Spotlight stories keep us connected with our alum. It highlights what they have been doing since leaving Crandall and how their time at Crandall has influenced their lives during and after their studies.

Today’s Alumni Spotlight Story features Moriah Ohlhauser, who graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and ClayStone.

Since Graduation:

After I graduated I worked as a staff member at Crandall for a couple years. But I have since moved back to Alberta to work at the Badlands Amphitheatre in Drumheller. The Badlands Amphitheatre is Canada’s largest outdoor amphitheatre and since 1994 has put on a theatrical production of the story of Jesus Christ every summer. I have volunteered in the summer there since 2008 and am now working full time. Besides the Passion Play in the summer, we host music festival style concerts, operas, ballet, fireworks shows and many other events all outdoors. I was hired as the Outdoor Coordinator to develop hiking trails for guided hikes on the Amp’s 400 acres of land surrounding the main amphitheatre.

How did Crandall prepare you:

Crandall, through the Claystone program, prepared me with knowledge and skills to help lead groups on guided hikes and other outdoor excursions. The classes I took at Crandall have helped me develop my critical thinking skills in this wild world, and helped develop a stronger faith in Jesus Christ through the Biblical studies classes.
