I am originally from Nigeria – we sometimes say this slogan “Naija no dey carry last!” which means: with resilience Nigerians never give up no matter the struggle.
Since Graduation:
Since graduating, I’ve been teaching with the Anglophone East School District, a job I actually applied for while at Crandall University. With my Master’s in Management and previous qualifications, I earned the highest Level 6 in Teacher Certification. Now, I’m working toward my Principal’s Certification, preparing for a leadership role in the public school sector. Additionally, I work with high-needs children at my church, and I recently joined the Newcomer Mentoring group to help newcomers settle into life in Canada.
How did Crandall prepare you:
Moving to a new country with my family was both exciting and challenging, but Crandall University made the transition easier as it was so welcoming. From the start, the orientation activities helped me settle in, meet new people, and feel right at home. Every staff member I met showed so much kindness, humility, and care. At first, I thought it was just great customer service, but I soon realized it was part of the school’s culture- based on Christian faith/scriptures. All the courses I offered throughout my study were inspiring and forward-thinking, giving me the confidence to pursue a management career after my Master’s.
Being a recipient of the Dr.Dannie Brown’s Graduate StudiesAward in Management was such an honor; it reminded me how much I had grown as a leader and community member. Plus, serving as one of the Graduate School Vice Presidents really strengthened my teamwork and leadership skills, which I apply in my professional life.
Other News:
My time at Crandall University was full of unforgettable experiences; camping at Kouchibouguac, learning to ski at Poley Mountain, celebrating different cultures at Graduate Student Society Cultural Night, and even snowshoeing at Centennial Park. I also loved ministering in songs at the chapel and volunteering for Dog Therapy during Mental Health Week. Crandall University was more than a place to study; it was a community of kindness, inclusion, and inspiration. It taught me that true leadership comes from service, humility, and faith. Crandall University will always feel like a home away from home; a place where faith, purpose, and possibility come together. A huge thank you to the entire Crandall University Family! Thinking about studying at Crandall University? I can honestly say it’s an experience that goes beyond academics. From the supportive community to the unforgettable experiences, it’s a place that challenges you, helps you grow, belong, and thrive. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful tool to change your world.”
