Welcome Back, Dr. Scott Mealey – New Lecturer in Education

Crandall University’s Faculty of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Scott Mealey as a Lecturer of Education, beginning this academic year.

Many within our university community may remember Dr. Mealey from his previous time with us as a sessional instructor. Since then, he has continued to build an impressive academic and professional career, most recently completing his PhD in Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies at the University of Toronto. His doctoral research, titled Recollections of a Spectator: Style, Familiarity, and Attitudinal Change in the Study of Theatre Spectatorship, reflects his deep interest in the intersection of performance, pedagogy, and audience engagement.

Dr. Mealey brings a unique and dynamic perspective to the Education program, drawing on a rich academic background that includes a BA Honours in Theatre and a Professional Acting Training Program from Dalhousie University, as well as an MA in Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies from the University of Toronto.

In his new role, Dr. Mealey will be teaching Educational Foundations and Research Methods, contributing significantly to the core of our education programs. His interdisciplinary approach and commitment to fostering critical inquiry make him a valuable addition to our faculty.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Mealey back to our campus in this new capacity and look forward to the many ways he will contribute to the continued growth and innovation of our Education program.
