Crandall Church Connect Inspires Community Support Initiatives

Leaders and volunteers from local churches gathered to discuss strategies to provide community support to newcomers.

Moncton – Crandall University is pleased to announce the successful launch of Crandall Church Connect. An inaugural event held earlier this month brought together a dynamic coalition of local pastors, dedicated volunteers, and members of university staff, all united by a shared commitment to providing essential support to newcomers and international students settling in the Greater Moncton area.

Under the banner of Crandall Church Connect, participants discussed strategies for pooling their collective resources and expertise to address the multifaceted needs of our community’s newest members. From facilitating cultural adaptation to ensuring access to vital services like housing and transportation, the brainstorming session yielded a wealth of innovative ideas and actionable insights, underscoring the power of collaboration.

The enthusiasm and camaraderie that permeated the gathering underscored the depth of dedication among attendees. Participants exchanged perspectives and experiences through spirited discussion, laying the groundwork for impactful strategies aimed at fostering inclusivity and empowerment within our local community.

As Crandall Church Connect sets its sights on the future, it seeks to embody the transformative potential of collective action, standing in solidarity with one another in support of the community. Dr. Jeff Carter, Director of Strategic Transformational Initiatives, captured the essence of the gathering, emphasizing the profound impact of even the smallest acts of kindness on the lives of newcomers. Inspired by the timeless wisdom of Matthew 10:42, attendees are committed to extending compassion and support – “a cup of cold water” – to those in need.

The enthusiasm and ideas generated during this inaugural gathering have been an encouragement for the continued success of the endeavour. The next meeting, scheduled for May 14, 2024, will harness the momentum generated thus far and further amplify the efforts of Crandall Church Connect in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all newcomers to the Greater Moncton area.

Crandall University extends its deepest gratitude to all participants for their dedication and commitment to this vital initiative. Together, we look forward to continuing this journey of community support and empowerment, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
