This year’s Fall 2023 Convocation Speaker was Dr. Dannie Brown, Former Associate Professor, Dean of International Academic Programs, and Dean of Remote Learning at Crandall University, where he served for 26 years before retiring in July of 2023.
Due to Dr. Brown’s leadership and determination, the division of International Academic Programs was launched. Now, the Crandall University Board of Governors has chosen to bestow upon Dr. Brown the designation of Dean Emeritus. The Crandall University Senate has also chosen to bestow the title of Associate Professor of Management Emeritus for his many years of teaching.
While Dr. Brown had many words to share, his key message revolved around “keeping the engine of life running.” In his address to the graduands, Dr. Brown identified four “cautions” that he has learned about life throughout his lengthy career. The four cautions include: time stops for no one, practice life-long learning, be more globally minded, and love and allow yourself to be loved.
