Dale Stairs appointed Vice President for Student Life and Transformation

Crandall University’s Board of Governors has voted unanimously to create the new position of Vice President for Student Life and Transformation and to appoint Dr. Dale Stairs (’94) to the role.

For the last decade, Dr. Stairs has worked with students in varying capacities, from the Crandall-Acadia Bachelor of Theology Partnership, to the ClayStone Certificate, to his most recent post as head of the growing Student Life and Transformation department.

“Under Dale’s leadership the Student Life and Transformation team has grown significantly during this recent period of University expansion and this team has served our students very well,” said Dr. Bruce Fawcett, Crandall’s President and Vice Chancellor. “We are grateful for Dale’s decades of experience working with students and the leadership he has provided in his years serving at Crandall.”

The Student Life and Transformation team began an accelerated season of growth in recent years, a response to a desire to provide more co-curricular resources to students and to establish a more holistic educational experience for the growing student body. The department engages with students through community-building experiences and provides support and resources for physical development, mental health, spiritual growth, and more, all in an effort to provide the best environment possible for students to learn and grow.

“A student’s time at university is made up of more than the courses they take,” said Dr. Stairs. “I’m thankful to be a part of creating opportunities that complement the many things students learn in the classroom. Together, this allows students to experience transformation as we help them grow into the best versions of themselves.”

Dr. Stairs holds a Bachelor of Arts from Crandall University, a Master of Divinity from Acadia University, and a PhD from the Free University of Amsterdam.
