Crandall University is pleased to announce that Dr. Nancy Matthews has accepted the appointment to the position of Dean of Education at the University. Dr. Matthews is no stranger to the Education program at Crandall University where she has taught as an adjunct instructor for over 5 years and has served as Associate Professor of Education since August 2022. Dr. Matthews is also very familiar with the New Brunswick school system and the local Anglophone district where she has served in a number of teaching and administrative capacities since 1991.
“We have always tried to provide our Education students with a balance of professional and academic expertise from the instructors who teach them across their programs,” said Dr. Jon Ohlhauser, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. “Dr. Matthews is a perfect balance of these two realities as she assumes the responsibility as our Dean of Education. I look forward to the value she will bring to our programs and our students as she serves in this new role.”
“I am honored to accept the position of Dean of Education at Crandall University,” said Dr. Matthews. “I am committed to promoting excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship, while fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment. I look forward to working with the committed faculty and staff to continue to enhance the educational experience for our students and to continue to produce successful graduates who will make a positive impact in education.”
Dr. Matthews will be the first person to serve as Dean of Education at Crandall University, and will oversee all of Crandall’s Education programs, including the Bachelor of Education, the Bachelor of Technical Education, the French Immersion Education Certificate, and the Master of Education.
