Pritish Rajendran – Alumni Experience

Pritish Rajendran

Master of Management, Class of 2022

I am from New Delhi, India and I heard about Crandall through an educational consultant.

It was suggested that Crandall would be interested in enrolling a person with my professional background and experience as a Master’s student.

Although I have travelled to different countries around the globe, Moncton is the first Canadian city that I lived in. I landed in Moncton during the peak winter season (January). There was a lot of snow everywhere, and coming from a place where we do not see any, it was exciting for me to witness my first snow storm in Canada. There was a struggle initially to get settled and adjust with the flow of life; for example, I had to bike everyday for 6 months from my home to the workplace till I had saved enough money to buy my first car. I remember, how we would look at the weather forecast in March and decide if the temperature is good enough to bike on the roads, for instance, if it was -7 deg Celsius or more, biking looked good but if the temperature went down below -12, no biking!!

The Master of Management program taught me how to analyse the work environment and use the situations to my advantage for more efficient and optimum results.

My first course at Crandall was taken by Professor Donald Moore. As they say, the first impression is the last impression, Professor Moore for me was the brand ambassador of Crandall University and how friendly and amazing it could be. From then on I would always look forward to being a part of Professor Moore’s class. It was in his lecture that I made the closest and my first ever friends in Moncton, for which I am truly grateful.

I am currently working as the Safety Coordinator at the Kent Building Supplies Distribution Centre in Moncton. My job is to maintain the Safety standards in the work areas and make sure that our associates and workers comply with the WorkSafe New Brunswick regulations. I also deal with workplace injuries and manage the return to work process for our associates. I had started off as a Part time Order Picker at the Kent Distribution Centre while I was pursuing my Master’s program. The Internship program, which was a part of the Master’s course, gave me my big breakthrough. I was leading a project related to Inventory movement within the warehouse as part of my internship, and as soon as I finished it, I was hired as a full time associate as an Inventory control specialist. It was later on, due to my background in Safety, I was offered the role of the Safety Coordinator for which a post graduate degree was necessary. Crandall helped me grow my career in Canada and I cannot thank them enough.
