Bachelor of Arts in English (Hons), Class of 2017
Bachelor of Education, Class of 2019
After finishing my BA in English at Crandall I decided to pursue a career in teaching. I finished my BEd at Crandall in 2019 and began supply teaching. During this time I helped launch Snapology in Moncton. It’s a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & math) enrichment company that runs summer camps, afterschool programs, birthdays, etc. It combines LEGO® bricks, K’Nex and technology in a way that allows kids to learn and have fun at the same time! This past year I taught high school English at Moncton High School. This was a perfect fit as it combined my love of teaching and English. I was very pleased with my experience in the Education program at Crandall. I felt like having this degree was a very instrumental part in opening doors for me in teaching.
In addition to teaching, I have been busy finishing my MA in English at Acadia University. During my time at Crandall, Dr. Abram Steen inspired me to study English. I knew I wanted to expand on my education and continue to study English. His guidance and teaching while I completed my honours thesis was a huge part of where I am today. I am also so grateful for all of the wonderful staff and faculty in the Education program. Their advice, instruction, and continued support has helped me navigate the teaching world in so many ways. I am very thankful for Crandall as it set me up well to continue in my studies as well as pursue a career in teaching.
