MONCTON, NB – The Crandall University Faculty of Business Administration awarded its Gold Medal for exceptional achievement in business at Saturday’s Convocation ceremony to graduating student Joshua Lewis of Monteagle, NB. Josh, who completed his BBA with concentrations in Economics & Finance and Accounting, graduated with an A-level GPA, and distinguished himself by serving in leadership positions in the University Business Society and broader community. Josh has accepted a management position with a Moncton-based company and is looking forward to applying the skills he developed during his studies at Crandall.
Established in 2006, the Faculty of Business Administration Gold Medal is bestowed annually at the Spring Convocation. Professors consider all graduating students in the BBA degree for the award, seeking to identify individuals who evidence the effective integration of the Christian faith and the study of business, a positive and significant impact to the University and the community, and excellence in academic achievement.
Reflecting on the award Josh stated, “I have really appreciated the Christian environment of Crandall University. My faith has grown over my four years within the BBA program and I always felt a sense of belonging. The way business was integrated with the Christian faith helped me see work not as a necessary evil, but as a way to glorify God. Overall, I am very appreciative of my time spent within the program as it has helped prepare me for what the future holds.”
“We are extraordinarily proud to honour Josh’s achievement with the Gold Medal,” said Professor Robert MacDonald, Crandall’s Stephen S. Steeves Chair in Business. “During his studies he exemplified the integration of business and the Christian faith, which is what we strive to communicate in our program. Adding to this his excellent academic performance and selfless service to peers and community members, it was clear that Josh fit the mold for the award. We’ll miss his presence in our program, but we know that God has great things in store for him.”
The Crandall University Faculty of Business Administration offers concentrations in Accounting, Economics & Finance, Management, Marketing, and General Business Administration. The Faculty’s motto “Excellence. Integrated.” speaks to its goal of being a leader in the provision of exemplary business education firmly rooted in the Christian faith.
