Moncton – The Crandall University Faculty of Business Administration today announced the recipient of the $4,000 Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read Scholarship in Business Ethics to be Joshua Lewis of Monteagle, NB.  As a senior student majoring in Economics and Finance, Josh has distinguished himself with a reputation for excellence in both academics and personal integrity, leading his professors to identify him as one of the Faculty’s top students.

The Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read Scholarship was established in memory of prominent business leaders Stephen and Ella Steeves, and is awarded to a student in the Bachelor of Business Administration program who has demonstrated academic diligence and keen interest in business ethics.  The annual recipient is recognized as being one of the most promising future graduates in terms of applying ethical standards based on a Christian worldview within their future career.

“I am honored to be the recipient of the Gord and Marlene (Steeves) Read Scholarship of Business Ethics,” said Josh.  “I would like to thank my parents, professors, and friends who have all supported me during my time within the Crandall Business program. Throughout my studies, I have been encouraged to express my faith and have learned the importance of applying that faith in my everyday life.”

Robert MacDonald, the University’s Stephen S. Steeves Professor in Business and member of the committee that selected Josh for the award commented, “Josh embodies the values we seek to exemplify in Crandall’s BBA degree program, and it’s been a pleasure to see how Josh has grown in his ability to articulate how his Christian faith shapes his understanding of business.  Faith integration is imperative to the Christian’s life in the economic sphere, and we’re proud of Josh for his accomplishments in this regard.”
