Kinesiology at Crandall

In Crandall’s newest major, Kinesiology, students will learn strategies to improve human health, fitness, performance, and the overall human experience. From an understanding of anatomy and how the parts of the body interact with each other and their surroundings, Kinesiology teaches how to optimize activity, prevent (and recover from) injuries, and enhance quality of life.

There are a variety of engaging areas that can be studied in our Kinesiology program, including biology and growth, and development. Students also have the opportunity to pursue athletic practicums and work closely with Chargers Athletics and our Fitness Centre to ensure real-world application.

Outcomes and Careers

In addition to the critical thinking, researching, writing, and building of interpersonal skills through Liberal Arts Studies, Kinesiology graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills that will prepare them for various career paths and further education.

As university-educated human movement specialists, Kinesiology grads may go on to work in a wide range of sport, fitness, health promotion, and rehabilitation settings. An undergraduate degree in Kinesiology may also serve as the basis for further study in other healthcare professions, including physio and occupational therapy, medicine, education, dentistry, and more!

Fun Fact!

Students are trained to prescribe exercise as medicine. They will be instructed on advising movement to prevent injury and disease.
