Moncton – Undergraduate tuition at Crandall University will hold steady through the 2022-2023 academic year.
In the spring of 2021, Crandall University’s Board of Governors approved a tuition freeze for undergraduate programs, and tuition was held at the 2020-2021 rate. This fall, the decision was made to extend that freeze for 2022-2023.
“There continues to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and we know for many, that includes family finances,” said Crandall President and Vice Chancellor Dr. Bruce Fawcett. “In approving this continued freeze on tuition, we hope to ease a little of that uncertainty for our students and their families.”
Dr. Fawcett was also pleased to note that announced increases to New Brunswick’s minimum wage in 2022 would be a great benefit to students who live and work in the province: “A great many university students work part time throughout the year to help pay for their education; the announced increases to the minimum wage will make higher education even more affordable for students.”
Enrollment at Crandall has been steadily increasing in recent years across nearly all academic areas, and it is anticipated that 2022 will see the University surpass 1,000 students enrolled. Faculty and staff numbers have also increased to support the growing student body while keeping classes small.
A private university, Crandall does not ask for government funding to support the University’s operation; instead, the Crandall’s educational efforts are supported by donors, whose support serves to offset the cost to the student.
“The support that we receive from donors makes a lot of what we do at Crandall possible,” said Dr. Robert Knowles, Vice President for Advancement. “Their support has allowed us to offer more programs, hire employees, and ultimately provide a transformative education for our students.”
