Crandall Tower to get fresh coat of paint

Moncton – Crandall University’s Murray Hall is a little shorter today, as the Joseph Crandall Tower has been brought down to ground level. This temporary displacement will allow easier access while workers apply a fresh coat of paint to the steel structure.

Visitors to campus who need to access Murray Hall are asked to use the building’s second entrance, or enter via Stultz Hall and access the building through the Link.

Crandall Fact: The Joseph Crandall Tower, originally installed in 1996, weighs approximately 9,000kg (20,000lbs). 40% of that weight (3,600kg/8,000lbs) is taken up by the top section of the tower, which lights up at night.
