Teaching. Research. Service.
These are three key aspects of the work of faculty members at Crandall University, and they are also the categories under which The Stephen and Ella Steeves Awards are presented to deserving faculty members each year. Recipients are nominated by students, staff, and fellow faculty members during the fall term each year and selected by a committee of their peers.
Normally held in February, the award ceremony had been postponed twice – once due to weather, and a second time due to public health limitations on gatherings. With the arrival of fall, and with new health and safety guidelines in place, the event was finally able to take place, and on Friday evening, the awards for 2020 were presented.
Awards were presented that evening to Dr. Keith Grant (History) for Excellence in Teaching, Prof. Amy MacArthur (Business Administration) for Excellence in Teaching and Service, Dr. Ted Newell (Education) for Excellence in Research, and Dr. Mel Schriver (Science) for Excellence in Service.
Also presented at Friday’s ceremony was a Meritorious Service Award, which recognized Prof. Ken Frost for his vision, dedication and commitment to the Education Program at Crandall University.
Congratulations to all of the award recipients; it is because of the passionate commitment of faculty members like these that Crandall University has been able to provide a transformative educational experience for students for more than 70 years!
