The best way to see all that Crandall University has to offer is to come for a campus tour. We can also customize a campus tour to your specific interests.
Here at Crandall, we have many traditions that are uniquely our own, but Fall Foliage has to be our prettiest tradition of all!
Fall Foliage is an annual event that sets aside time for members of the Crandall community – students, staff, and faculty alike – to take time for reflection in nature with God and each other. When asked to share her thoughts on this tradition, third year student India Miller-Bidwell expressed her appreciation for the gathering, saying “a lot of us don’t often take time out of our busy schedules to just relax in God’s creation, but Fall Foliage makes time for us to do just that. The fact that Crandall faculty prioritizes this break for us year after year never fails to remind me of how much they care.”
This year’s Fall Foliage Day found Crandall students and staff exploring nature in Hillsborough, New Brunswick, a quaint little village just a short 30 minute drive from campus.
A new component to the event this year, participants had the option of exploring two different paths. They could walk the river trail overlooking the rushing Petitcodiac River, or hike the wooded trail weaving through White Rock Recreational Park, but no matter which path they chose, everyone was sure to be immersed in the beauty of the fall season.
Following this quiet time of reflection in nature, the group made their way to Hillsborough Baptist Church where they were welcomed with warm hot chocolate, cookies, and other fan favorites. While the snacks were crowd-pleasers, it was the worship time that followed that everyone had been eagerly awaiting.
As the band took the stage, former student and veteran Chapel singer Rachel Knowles made an unexpected but welcome return as she and student Caleb Bustin led a time singing, both lending their talented voices to praise God in beautiful harmony.
As the music concluded, Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jon Ohlhauser drew the wonderful event to a close by providing students with some reassuring words, encouraging them to pursue God’s calling in their lives, no matter where it takes them.
Thank you to everyone who made Fall Foliage 2019 possible and to all who participated! Make sure to tune in next October to see where Fall Foliage 2020 takes us!
