After an extensive internal and external review of varsity athletics, as well as a wide personnel search for the person to bring Charger Athletics to the next level, Crandall University is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Teah Bailey as Director of Athletics and Recreation.
Coach Teah brings a rich diversity to his new role within varsity athletics. A native of Nova Scotia, Teah played varsity basketball, and was involved for many years with coaching and sport management for area high schools and his local Boys and Girls Club.
Earlier in his career, Teah managed addiction recovery and support services for two local non-profit organizations. Teah eventually found himself back in the world of athletics, working with a high-end fitness equipment operation as well as coaching basketball at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Teah is currently Crandall’s female basketball Head Coach, and is involved with the Moncton franchise of the National Basketball League of Canada.
Apart from his fitness and athletics background, Teah is also a local radio celebrity, sought after motivational speaker, and the President of One8tea Ministries. Teah is nationally recognized for his profound music and workshops, covering subjects such as bullying, teen suicide, substance abuse, and more. Teah is a Covenant Award winning artist, and has been nominated for a 2017 East Coast Music Award.
Coach Teah is a proud family man who involves his family in his athletic and ministry endeavors. He spends his free time with family, friends, and mentoring others through the transformative mediums of his art and athletics.
Coach Teah is “excited to carry on the vision of the university and invest in the lives of the young people we get to come in contact with every day.” University President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Bruce Fawcett, commented that the university looks forward to Teah’s “entrepreneurial spirit, depth of community service and engagement, and his fundamental understanding of the transformative nature of varsity athletics”.
