President Fawcett Named to Cabinet of Canadians

Former Ambassador Dr. Andrew Bennett, Chair of the Cabinet of Canadians, recently announced the names of “40 distinguished individuals who will help affirm the central role faith has played in Canada’s history and continues to play today”.  Dr. Fawcett joins leaders from a variety of faith traditions including retired World Vision CEO David Toycen, former Tyndale College and Seminary President Dr. Brian Stiller, the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada’s President Bruce Clemenger, television executive and host Lorna Dueck, and World Vision CEO Michael Messenger.

The Cabinet of Canadians is part of Faith in Canada at 150, an initiative of Cardus, a Canadian think tank, launched in advance of the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017. Members of the Cabinet will attend events, speak publicly, and write about the contributions of faith to public life in Canada. Of the initiative, Dr. Bennett said “the Cabinet of Canadians aims to commemorate the historic role of faith in our country, our institutions, and our common life and to reaffirm it today”.
