Sociology Professor Honored with Prestigious Fellowship Award

Sam Reimer_squareDr. Sam Reimer, one of Crandall’s Sociology professors, recently received the Alan Richardson Fellowship Award. This annual award is given to an established scholar by Durham University in England who clearly demonstrates excellence and leadership in research and commentary in their discipline. The purpose of the award is to promote “research into the exposition and defense of Christian doctrine in the context of contemporary thought and its challenges”.

The endowed fellowship covers the expenses of the scholar to spend a term at Durham University.  Dr. Reimer, along with his family, intends to spend the winter of 2018 as a “member of the Society of Fellows of Durham University”, and an “Honorary Fellow of the Department of Theology and Religion”.  Previously, Dr. Reimer has completed comparative studies of evangelicals in Canada and the U.S., and now intends to research British evangelicalism while at Durham in order to make comparisons between British and North American versions of evangelicalism.
