Crandall Business Students Supporting The Autism Resource Centre
A group of Crandall Business Students in their graduating year have partnered with the Autism Resource Centre located in Dieppe, New Brunswick to help with the needs of this organization as part of a final community project. The students recently teamed up with Menchies Moncton to not only raise funds for this worthy organization, but also to raise awareness for Autism within the community. As autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys, it is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S., and costs a family roughly $60,000 a year on average. These are little known facts that these students along with the Autism Resource Centre are trying to portray to the community.
The business students worked hard to bring in customers and supporters to Menchies Moncton on February 12, 2015 with 20% of sales between the hours of 7PM-10PM going to the Autism Resource Centre. As well as growing awareness for this cause, the night was filled with laughs, smiles and delicious frozen yogurt. As a result of this event funds were donated to the centre, awareness was raised about autism, and customers and supporters alike were able to enjoy a delicious cup of froyo!
The students were pleased with the turn out of the event, and are continuing to be involved in the community in hopes of helping this organization long term.
