November 30, 2014–Today Dr. Bruce Fawcett, President and Vice Chancellor and Bryan Cawthra, Athletic Director and Men’s Soccer Coach had the privilege to present a very prestigious athletic award to an outstanding student athlete. Fred Agbozo, an international student from Ghana was named to the 2014 CCAA Men’s Soccer All-Canadian Team. Fred is in his 3rd year of a B.Sc. degree and is well-know around campus for his contagious smile and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever needed. A strong defensive player, Fred has played an important role since the Crandall Chargers men’s soccer team joined the ACAA in 2013.
This past season, Fred, a central defender, has taken his game to the next level as a leader on the field for the Chargers. Head Coach Bryan Cawthra says, “Fred’s presence on the field this year has been a factor in every game we have played. He demands the best out of his teammates, and demands respect from his opponents with his dominant play.” .
Earlier this year, Fred commented that his “goal this year is to compete both in class and on the field. On our soccer team, there is teamwork and dedication by all of the guys who play. Teamwork makes the dream work.” Fred has certaintly achieved this goal and the Crandall community is grateful to have the opportunity to celebrate this tremendous achievement with him! Go Charger Go!
