13-2 CHARGERS LEAD THE ACAA

5th Year Captain Nathaneal Fells leads the Chargers

The Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association’s first place Crandall Chargers have accomplished many school records this season – but the real work begins this Saturday as they hit the home stretch and compete against the second place Holland Hurricanes.

On Saturday, February 1, 2014, Crandall–for the first time in the Chargers men’s basketball history–completed a season series sweep of the Mount Allison Mounties as 5th year captain Nathaneal Fells led his team.  Fells was three rebounds short of a triple double by pouring in 24 points, adding 12 dimes and 7 rebounds, as the Chargers took the Mounties 99-93.

5th year player Alex MacLoed of Riverview added 23 points, while Sherif Bah netted 14, and Achuil Lual had 12 for the Chargers.  This win pushed the Chargers up a spot in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s top 15 rankings, as Crandall Chargers currently sit at #5 in Canada.

This weekend will be a huge match up for ACAA basketball, as Crandall University will host Holland College on Saturday– the women play at 3pm and men at 5pm.  On Sunday, Crandall will host DAL AC, women’s game will tip off at 1pm and the men at 3pm.

Come out wearing blue and gold and show support for your Chargers this Saturday, February 8th! They’re anticipating full bleachers and lots of noise!
