As Canadians become more mobile than ever before, and as Canada becomes home to more persons from around the globe, teaching English as a second language is becoming a popular career both in Canada and abroad, and the demand for high quality, trained ESL instructors continues to grow. Crandall's TESL Certificate Program is designed to train future ESL teachers to meet these challenges by introducing the theory, methodology, and practical skills they will need in the ESL classroom.
Why TESL at Crandall?
When choosing a TESL program, keep in mind that not all programs are equal in quality. Consider the following when making your decision:
- Is the program offered by a reputable university or college? Are its credits transferable?
- Does the course content meet certain standards, such as those set by TESL Canada, CELTA, or other recognized bodies?
- Are the instructors certified by anyone other than the institution itself?
- Does the program include a practicum with significant hours of observation and practice teaching over a period of time?
- Is the schedule realistic? (Real learning takes time.)
Crandall is a degree-granting (Arts, Science, Business, Education) university by an Act of the Legislature of New Brunswick, Canada, and our TESL Certificate is recognised by TESL Canada.
