Academic Calendar 2008-2010In Canada there is no formal organization that accredits universities and colleges, but the concept of accreditation is practiced. It is based on the acceptance of postsecondary studies by Canadian Universities and Colleges, where the work completed meets criteria of faculty competence, standards of instruction, and standards of student achievement practiced by the major universities in Canada. Based on these standards, Atlantic Baptist University graduates consistently achieve a high level. In 1983, the New Brunswick Legislature passed a charter granting Atlantic Baptist University the right to offer baccalaureate degrees. In addition to its own individual standards, Atlantic Baptist University has increased its effort to University Act was revised in the New Brunswick Legislature to reflect the growing maturity of the University, thus expanding the potential of the University to offer degrees beyond the baccalaureate level. Atlantic Baptist University is an affiliate member of The Council of Christian Colleges and Universities, an association of approximately 175 Christ-centered colleges and universities of the liberal arts and sciences with member schools in 26 countries around the world. The Council is committed to cultivating communities of educational excellence in which the Lordship of Jesus Christ is central. |
