1960-1969 Alumni Reunion was one for the books

“Having never attended a reunion, I thought it was long overdue! It was a wonderful weekend filled with memories and great to chat with friends after 55 years!” (Dwight Stuart, Class of 1962)

On September 16 & 17, over 80 alumni from the 1960’s gathered at Crandall University to celebrate. The weekend was filled with fun, food, and fellowship – there’s just something about reunions that does the heart good!

“I went this year knowing I wouldn’t know many people, but everyone made me feel so welcome. Singing in the ladies’ trio both brought me back to a happy place, as I have such great memories of running around the Maritimes with the trio and Dr. Murray almost every weekend.” (Margaret Anderson, Class of 1967)

Saturday’s activities included bowling, choir practice, and a banquet in the evening. Food Services put on a delicious meal that had us leaving with full bellies. Dr. Carol Thorne was our emcee and had lovely program lined up with music, a sharing time, video footage from past reunions, a 50 year pin ceremony, and a mini concert from the talented quartet, For the Cross. On Sunday, Highfield Baptist Church graciously hosted us for their worship service and luncheon.

“Back in the UBBTS days, students were more than friends – they were like family! It’s nice to find out what’s been going on in their lives and where they’re living. The Christian fellowship we experience each year is second to none in the world. I thank God each day for such lasting Christian friends.” (Don Chapman, Class of 1964)

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend! If you haven’t attended one of these reunions before, let the words of your peers encourage you to put September 15 & 16, 2018 on your calendar!
