Crandall Hosts BWA General Secretary-elect

Posted in on September 1, 2017

Crandall University was pleased to have had the opportunity recently to welcome the newly elected General Secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, Dr. Elijah Brown, for a campus visit.

Dr. Brown, in one of his first international visits since being elected as the next General Secretary, toured the campus and visited with President Fawcett where possible avenues of cooperation between the BWA and Crandall were discussed. Dr. Brown enters his new role with experience as a professor in a Baptist university in the United States and so understands the mission and nature of Crandall from his own personal experience. Of his visit he commented, “I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome given by Dr. Fawcett and the Crandall University family. I was impressed with the campus, the vision, and the leadership of the university which is so clearly committed to providing an environment of academic excellence and the Christian faith. At a time of changing dynamics within North America and around the world, institutions such Crandall University are needed now more than ever.”

Of Dr. Brown, President Fawcett commented, “I was deeply impressed with Dr. Brown’s breadth of understanding of key issues facing the Baptist movement world-wide, and the energy he will bring to his new task.  As a Crandall community we look forward to ongoing collaboration with the BWA and supporting Dr. Brown in his new role.”.
